AI Can't Read Your Mind

Imagine you walk into an ice cream shop and just say: "Ice cream."

What happens? The person behind the counter looks at you, confused. What flavor? Cone or cup? One scoop or three? With whipped cream? Without?

You know exactly what you want — but you didn't say it. And the person behind the counter can't read your mind.

AI Has the Same Problem

When you talk to an AI, you have to say exactly what you want. AI can't guess what you're thinking. It's like a very friendly helper who takes everything very literally.

If you say: "Write something about animals" — you'll get something about some random animals. Maybe about earthworms. Maybe about elephants. Who knows?

If you say: "Write a funny story about a dog who rides a skateboard" — now the AI knows exactly what you want!

iHow you talk to AI

What you write to the AI is called a prompt. It's an English word that means something like "instruction" or "assignment." The better your prompt, the better the answer!
