What is Claude Code?

Imagine having an experienced developer sitting right next to you -- one who knows your entire project, independently plans, creates files, writes tests, and fixes bugs. Not waiting line by line for your next keystroke, but thinking and acting autonomously. That is Claude Code.

Claude Code is a terminal-native AI agent from Anthropic. Unlike traditional code assistants limited to simple autocompletions, Claude Code understands complex tasks, breaks them down into steps, and executes them independently -- from reading your codebase to writing new features to running tests and making Git commits.
