Hands-On: First Steps
Wissen
Welcome to the Practical Part!
Enough theory -- now it is time to get hands-on. In this module, you will gain your first personal experience with AI tools. You will optimize prompts, generate an image, and understand how AI automation works.
What you need:
- Access to ChatGPT or Claude (the free version is perfectly sufficient)
- A web browser
- About 30-45 minutes
- Curiosity and a willingness to experiment
What We Will Do in This Module
The module consists of three practical exercises that build on each other:
Exercise 1 -- Optimize a prompt: You write a simple prompt and optimize it step by step. You experience firsthand what a difference good prompting makes.
Exercise 2 -- Generate an image: You create your first AI image and learn how detailed prompts lead to better results.
Exercise 3 -- Understand automation: You learn the principle of AI automation -- how recurring tasks can be handled by AI.
!Do Not Share Personal Data
Never enter sensitive personal data into AI chatbots -- no passwords, bank details, social security numbers, or confidential work documents. Everything you enter may be used for model training.
iFree Tools to Get Started
The free versions of ChatGPT or Claude are perfectly sufficient for all exercises. You do not need a subscription or credit card -- just create a free account and get started.

Before You Start: Where Do You Stand?
Everyone comes to this module with different prior knowledge. Whether you have already used AI tools a few times or are opening one for the first time -- the exercises are designed so that you will learn something new in any case.
How often have you used an AI chatbot (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) so far?

Open ChatGPT or Claude in a second tab -- we will be working with it shortly. The exercises work best when you actually try them yourself, not just read them.
Reflect
This module thrives on your active participation. The more you try out yourself, the more you will learn. Mistakes are completely normal and even welcome -- because you learn the most from unexpected results. Let us get started with the first exercise: optimizing a prompt.
